EU Project Innovation Centre (EUPIC) was founded in 2006 under the Asia Invest Programme of the European Commission. It now runs three regional centres in China: west centre (Chengdu), north centre (Qingdao) and east centre (Wuxi), covering the 22 provinces and municipalities in those regions. It has established a liaison office in Brussels, Belgium as well.
By far, EUPIC has held 17 editions of Sino-European B2B Matchmakings and hundreds of forums and workshops focused on science and technology, talents, and urban development, etc. More than 30,000 meetings between European and Chinese enterprises were organized, which have generated approximately 4,000 intentional cooperation agreements, signing of 239 projects, and settlement in China of 68 European companies (3 of them among TOP 500 European companies). EUPIC invited participation and attendance by nearly 300 VIP guests of huge significance from the EU member states, like political dignitaries, high-level government officials, diplomatic envoys and those heads of international organizations and important agencies.
